Peter Habeler Anniversary Press Trip
13th – 16th September 2017
The iconic Tirolean mountaineer Peter Habeler is celebrating his 75th birthday this year and we are inviting a select group of journalists from the UK and Holland to discover his home region - accompanied by Habeler himself!
Peter Habeler was the first to climb the Everest without supplementary oxygen alongside Reinhold Messner, and there is a hiking route in Zillertal, Tirol named in his honor. This high-alpine hiking trail, the Peter Habeler Route, makes a complete circumnavigation of the western Zillertal Alps. It is sub-divided into six stages and involves more than 4000 metres of ascent, making it one for experienced mountain walkers only.

Discover Vorarlberg, Tirol and Salzburg on an international press trip this September in line with our Austrian Time campaign.
Austria is, of course, blessed with a topography that’s conducive to exploration - atop mountains, amidst green expanses or on lakes as clear as they come. In the Austrian countryside we achieve what is so often missing in our daily lives - a moment which is ours alone, a moment of #austriantime.
We have space for one UK journalist to join us on this group trip with highlights including a "creative walk" in Vorarlberg's Bregenzerwald and the chance to experience a select stage of Tirol's Eagle Walk.
