In Photos: Autumn in Austria
As the heat of the summer starts to pass, Austria's landscapes turn golden. The autumn sun illuminates the red and rust-coloured trees as the first snow starts to settle on awesome peaks. With later dawns, sunrise hikes are an even more appealing option. Harvest season arrives, with vineyards at their most bustling and exciting, inviting visitors in for tours and tastings. Farmers, leading their flower-adorned cows, make their way back down the mountains in joyful Almabtrieb (cattle drive) celebrations.
