Did anyone say skiing? Whisking down the slopes is an essential part of Austria - it's in (almost) every local's DNA. After all, we've been skiing for fun since the 1920s and our skiing instructors rank among the best in the world. 

But that's just half the story. Austria also regularly hosts major international wintersports contests: After two Olympic Winter Games (both in Innsbruck) and the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming in 2013, the later returns to Austria in 2025 - from 4 - 16 February it's Saalbach's turn to welcome the best racers in the world.
