Best Value Ski Resorts in Austria

How to get the most value for your money this winter!

Chasing big days without a big bill? In Austria, the smartest “value” often isn’t a rock-bottom day rate, it’s the pass that unlocks more skiing (or extras) for less. Below are the resorts and regions that punch hardest on price-to-experience this winter.

SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental: Big Mileage, Friendly Prices

If you want maximum terrain for your money, SkiWelt is a banker. As one of Austria's largest interconnected ski areas, SkiWelt has become a perennial UK-family favourite. Located just an hour from Salzburg, Innsbruck, and Munich, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental connects nine mountain villages and has received numerous awards. The resort features 270 km of groomed slopes and 20 valley descents, all powered by 100% green electricity for over 20 years.

The sheer expanse of terrain means that in high season, you can ski a whole week for just €1.59 per km! Order your ski pass for March by the end of Feb and get a 10% discount! Or travel on one of the “Super Ski Weeks” at the start and end of the season and get a full 15% off your ski pass. And as an added bonus, kids born in 2020 or later ski for free!

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis: A Premium Family Setup

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is a top-tier winter destination in the Austrian Alps, offering over 200 km of diverse slopes. The region is a true Eldorado for families with three children’s worlds (Kinderschneealm, Murmli Park, Berta’s Kinderland), excellent ski schools, as well as activities beyond skiing for all ages, such as tobogganing, skating or fat biking. If you stay in the resort itself and receive a guest card you can save around 14% (45 euros) on a 7-day ski pass. For families with children under three years old, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis also offers a “Young Family Ticket”: for bookings of 3 days or more, one adult-priced ticket covers both parents—so they can alternate skiing while caring for the child.

Zell am See-Kaprun: 400km Of Paradise

Perched between a glacier, mountain and a glittering lake, Zell am See-Kaprun is another resort that offers fantastic skiing. The Ski ALPIN CARD links 408 km of pistes across Schmittenhöhe, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and the Skicircus, home to Austria’s largest funslope (1.3 km) on the Schmittenhöhe. That's miles and miles for your money. This year, as well as offering time tiered tickets, families can enjoy the Junior XPLORE CARD: every Saturday from 29 Nov 2025 to 4 Apr 2026, kids & teens born 2007–2019 ski the whole ALPIN CARD area for €15. The region now supports smartphone lift tickets via Key2Ski, you buy online and tap through the gate, no keycard faff required.

Ski amadé – the Family Bonus that stacks

Ski amadé is one of Europe’s largest ski regions, offering 760 km of slopes across five diverse Austrian areas—Schladming-Dachstein, Salzburger Sportwelt, Gastein, Hochkönig, and Grossarl—all accessible with a single ski pass.

For families, Ski amadé’s Family Bonus is a real money-saver: when one parent and the oldest siblings buy passes for the same period, the third and all younger children get their pass free (with shared address ID). It applies across the whole region!

SuperSkiCard — “one pass, many regions,” priced to roam

If your idea of value is variety, this is the easy button: the SuperSkiCard spans up to 88 resorts in 23 regions, sold in 1–14 day blocks. Adult pricing for 2025/26 runs €77–€83 (1 day) to €665–€721 (14 days) depending on season window; the per-day rate slides nicely as you extend. It’s tailor-made for road trips, snow-chasing, or mixing two valleys in a week without re-buying local tickets.

Global Passes

If you already hold a multi-continent pass, Austria’s never been easier to visit.

Epic Pass now includes Austria days at Sölden, Mayrhofen & Hintertux, Silvretta Montafon, Saalbach and Zell am See-Kaprun, with Arlberg offered for 3 consecutive days when you book participating lodging.

Ikon Pass has added Ischgl/Samnaun for winter 2025/26 (day allotment by pass type), giving you a cross-border Tyrolean giant on the same wallet you might use in North America. If Ischgl is on your list and you already travel on Ikon, you’ve basically pre-paid your lift access.
