The City Meets the Slopes in Snow-Topped, Sun-Kissed Innsbruck
Innsbruck combines luxury urban amenities with the world-renowned winter sports of the Olympia SkiWorld. From skiing and snowboarding to tobogganing, snowshoeing and bobsleigh, visitors here are spoilt for choice. New for 2019/20 is the SKI plus CITY Pass.
Visitors to the Capital of the Alps can take advantage of a whole new ski holiday experience this winter.
The all-new SKI plus CITY Pass Stubai Innsbruck offers visitors a unique skiing and sightseeing experience with just one ticket, connecting 13 diverse ski areas in the Stubai Valley and Innsbruck region with 22 attractions in and around the city.
This exciting programme opens the doors to more than 300 kilometres of pistes and 111 different lifts to skiers and snowboarders, as well as the chance to marvel at the popular landmarks and attractions the region has to offer for just a single fee.
Transport doesn’t come at an extra cost either, as the ski bus transfer system and the hop-on, hop-off sightseer buses are also covered by the SKI plus CITY Pass.
Peter Unsinn, Head of Market Management at Innsbruck Tourism, said: “This is a world first for us. The pass puts a completely different twist on a typical ski holiday.
“In the morning visitors can be on the slopes 3,000 metres above sea level and then, by the afternoon, soaking up the culture of historic landmarks and museums, or visiting other attractions including the Alpenzoo and Swarovski Crystal Worlds.”
The pass offers a diverse array of sightseeing opportunities, including the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the Hofkirche Court Church, the world-famous Bergisel ski jump and Ambras Castle Innsbruck among others, as well as ice skating, bike hire and the choice of three indoor swimming pools.
Peter added: “From adrenaline junkies to families, the SKI plus CITY Pass has something for everyone and there’s guaranteed snow from October to June.”
The 13 ski resorts – Stubai Glacier, Axamer Lizum, Schlick 2000 Ski Centre, Kühtai, Hochoetz, Muttereralm, Bergeralm, the Innsbruck Nordkettenbahnen, Serlesbahnen, Elferbahnen, Patscherkofelbahn, Oberperfuss – Rangger Köpfl and Glungezerbahn – give skiers and snowboarders the chance to tailor their sporting experience to suit their mood or skill.
Established as part of an innovative partnership between Innsbruck Tourism, the Stubai Tourism and the tourism associations of Hall-Wattens, Wipptal and Ötztal, a five-day adult pass costs €230 - and gives visitors access to additional discounts, including 25 per cent off night skiing.
For children a SKI plus CITY pass costs €115 for five days and, when accompanied by a parent who also has a pass, children born in 2012 or later go free.
The ticket ranges from two to 21 days and is valid between October 1, 2019 and May 10, 2020. It can be purchased online, from all participating cable car tickets offices, Innsbruck Tourism booking offices and partner companies.
There are direct flights to Innsbruck from major UK airports, with the city centre just minutes away.
