The Wachau Valley, which is just an hour car drive away from Vienna, is one of the world's most scenic wine-growing regions, featuring charming picturesque villages, stone terraces and steep vineyards. The harmonious blend of river, vineyards and villages dating to the Middle Ages give glimpses into treasures of the past but also a peek into the future. These treasures have been elevated to UNESCO World Heritage status.
